The Amazon web pages says "speaker" but it is really "speaker(s)" -- they came as a pair for about $35. List price for these is around $75 per pair.
I'm not using these in a car. Instead, they are being used as replacements in some old, West German tube-based table radios from the early 1960s. Speakers have become much better since the 1960s, so it makes sense to swap out those old paper cone speakers in older radios with something much better. These 5x7 coaxial speakers replaced the original non-coaxial 6x9s. I needed speakers with decent efficiency, as the tube amp in these old AM/FM radios only puts out about 4 watts max. The original 6x9s were rated 5 ohms, so using these Scosche which are rated at 4 ohms were a close match on impedance.
Result with the replacement of the original 6x9s with these Scosche 5x7? Much better sound! Also, the smaller size of these Scosche vs the original 6x9s allowed the radios to put out much better mid-range. The...
