I have this identical speaker, enclosure, and built in amp set. I tried just using the speaker without the box it came with, as it was hard to fit in my chevy, and it sounded like crud. Then I put the MTX speaker in this enclosure and it was a match made in heaven, this speaker/box with plenty of cotton for cushion sounds like a giant. The speaker seriously breaks bones, it is just impossible to imagine the sound that comes from this speaker. I have a different amp that's 1000 watt, and I'm completely not using the one it came with because I don't want to relay all the wires. But if you have the time, USE the amp it comes with, it takes the speaker down to 1 Ohm and it just knocks so hard. MTX has my business for life.
