Max Group SN51FT300A SanSonic Black HD Digital ATSC Converter Box
Had the FT-310A - Looks identical - good converter - no frills but pulls the airwaves in
I used a number of converters when we first got OTA (over-the-air) digital TV a few years ago. We have two very high quality DVRs that can be used with OTA TV and must use converters for their input, even if we had a new digital TV.
My favorites were Sansonic FT-310A and Zinwell 950A. The others burned out or did not receive all the stations. I originally picked these two models, among others, because at the time, they were the only ones I could find that used a silicon microchip tuner instead of the old-fashioned "can" tuner, which even most new digital TVs may still be using to this day. I don't know why, and I don't know where you can go to find out if your TV has a silicon tuner inside, for its OTA digital receiver. There seems to be perrenial inventory, technical, supply-chain, support problems with the silicon tuner on the manufacturer level, which makes the conventional "can" tuner much easier for manufacturers to use.
I just only know there was a chart...
