I've been in the car audio game for about 13 years and have used various brands of equipment ranging from Alpine, Crossfire, Earthquake, MTX, and even off brands such as RD Audio.
Anyways...
My setup prior to purchasing these subs were 2 Alpine Type R 12" subs, running ~1400 watts rms in a 3.8 cu/ft box tuned @ 35 hz with ~45 sq. in. port area, in a 2001 Bonneville(Large car, large trunk!). The Type R's sounded great, clean, fairly loud -- 138.4 db @ 47 hz, sealed on dash. With only swapping out the subs, after 6 hours or so break in, it sounded louder over the entire frequency range, and put up 139.7 @ 42 hz, termlab, sealed, on dash. Build Quality is great as well, no plastic or cheap materials used. I may sound like a fanboy, but this is definitely a quality product and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. I'm also thinking about buying a second set ;)
